I was wondering if meeting so many new people...dealing with such a variety of emotions daily...gets to you. Do you feel overwhelmed on your journey?

Sometimes. But I am really taking care of myself and nurturing myself so that I can recharge my batteries. Thank You for asking.

Hey Kat, I have a friend that is dying of stage 4 lung cancer. We got called to the hospital tonight because he was unresponsive and I really dont think he will make it much longer. My question is this, I am an empath and I feel everything that everyone else does while Im there and I need to know the best way to keep their emotions and feelings seperate from my own. I am what people call a fixer because I like to fix things and I dont know how to deal with the guilt I am feeling because I cant fix this. Do you have any ideas how I can deal with all of this?

My question is this, I am an empath and I feel everything that everyone else does while Im there and I need to know the best way to keep their emotions and feelings seperate from my own. I am what people call a fixer because I like to fix things and I dont know how to deal with the guilt I am feeling because I cant fix this. Do you have any ideas how I can deal with all of this? I'm sure Kat will respond to this in a much better way than I can, but I would offer the advice not to separate your emotion. Rather, see if you can find a way to channel that energy into something more positive. In my experience people who are empathic often have an ability to put others at ease. If you can help channel all the emotion into something like that, I think it will help. If you cannot, take the emotion anyway because in doing so that alone helps the others. If all else fails, take the emotion and let it help you identify with the rest of those who will be struggling with the days ahead. Nothing is more comforting to someone in pain than knowing someone else understands it on a real level.
